Liposuction Post-Operative Instructions

Liposuction Post-Operative Measures: A General Idea for You

As we’ve discussed earlier, Liposuction is an invasive surgery done to remove fat from a specific area via a unique suction method. The surgery takes anywhere between 1 to 2 hours, and you may experience some pain and swelling after the surgery. The procedure is done with the assistance of general anesthesia, and some patients may also feel nauseous due to it. These immediate effects are constantly observed and treated by our experienced doctors at Kyra Aesthetic Clinic so you can relax.

The postoperative recovery instructions are usually different for different individuals depending on their age, gender, and amount of fat removed. However, here’s a brief look so that you can have a general idea about how the post-op process will look like.

Postoperative process

The postoperative measures start from the moment the surgery is successfully completed. So the post-op instructions can be divided into 4 stages such as

  • Immediate Measures:

Our doctors will use a special compression garment in the area of surgery to reduce bleeding. Doctors will also check your vitals to make sure everything is alright while you recover from the anesthesia.

  • A Few Hours after Surgery:-

Within the next few hours, the effects of anesthesia will wear off, and you may feel a little discomfort or pain in the area of surgery. Our expert surgeon and director of Kyra Aesthetic Clinic, Dr. Vikas Gawri, will be on the watch to detect and fluid changes or dehydration.

  • The First Week after Surgery:-

For the first week after surgery, you will be told to keep your physical activity to a minimum. You can do normal things around the house or take a stroll, but the hard physical movement is not recommended. From the 3rd day after surgery, you can start taking normal showers, and after 5 days, you can get back to work and usual daily activities.

  • After First Week:-

Approximately from the tenth day, gentle massages are recommended to reduce swelling in the region. When you start feeling better, Dr. Vikas Gawri recommends that you take up a healthy lifestyle and exercise regularly for 30 minutes to one hour at least 3 days a week.

And that’s how the recovery process will look like under the observation of our very own Dr. Vikas Gawri. This is the general idea of the recovery sessions. In actuality, Dr. Vikas Gawri will give you personalized suggestions according to your case.
