Tools, such as Osteotome and Rasp, are used for removing the bone that is already there. “Rasp” is a filing tool, which the surgeon uses to file away the undesirable part of the bone. It is also useful or shaping the nose.
After completing the above procedures, the plastic surgeon uses some packing and closes the initial incision. This packing holds the grafts in place. In due course, tissue develops around it, thereby integrating it in the nose’ structure. Packing also brings down excessive swelling and bleeding. The surgeon uses tape to hold this packing in place. A casting ensures that the inserted grafts remain where they should be. Such casting also ensures that lifted skin also remains in place. After a few weeks, the body naturally accepts the new grafts and stretched skin.
A plastic surgeon can also offer temporary solutions. For this, the plastic surgeon uses fillers like Restylane or Juvederm.
